The 5 main mistakes every bride seems to make are the same mistakes that are the most avoidable if you plan. Just like anything else in life, proper planning leads to perfect performance. Or haven’t you heard “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail”. So that’s exactly what we’re going to do. We’re going to plan properly that way we can maybe help you from making some costly mistakes during your wedding planning process. Let’s jump right in.

5) Willing To Settle
This is the easiest mistake to make. But it’s so simple to avoid. Let’s flip the roles, your BEST friend is getting married and you have a girls day to pick out her dress, cake or anything. And they don’t handle your request how you would expect…. You don’t settle.
Keep in mind, this is your wedding. You (hopefully) don’t get another chance at this. So when you talk to your vendors make sure they are showing you the respect and attention that you deserve. Because if you wouldn’t let your best friend settle for less than don’t let yourself settle for less either. But sometimes we all get caught up in the moment and forget what actually matters.
4) Overthink
You’re the star of the show. Let others overthink whether it’s going to rain or not. Or whether the cake is going to be delivered on time. This might come as a shock to you but getting married can feel like a full time job as you get closer to your wedding. But it doesn’t have to be. Allow yourself the extra helping hand and focus on the celebration not the work load.
3) Under Budget
We aren’t advising to spend carelessly. However, it is a common mistake that brides have a different expectation of wedding expenses. But it doesn’t have to be expensive. There are SO many DIY ideas that you can take advantage of that will save you money. One of the easiest ways to avoid making this mistake is using the 20% rule.Â
Brides tend to spend on average 20% more than they expected to pay when it comes to reserving a caterer, buying their dress, etc. So whatever you plan on spending, add 20% to it and that should give you a comfortable advantage just incase you tend to spend more than you budget for.
2) Indecisive
This is a costly mistake that brides struggle with at least 1 to 3 times during their wedding journey. Obviously you aren’t perfect and people do make mistakes but to save you the time, money and headache…. Try to make sure that when you decide on a vendor, style or theme etc, it’s not going to change. When we talk with brides and they first want to do their wedding a certain way but end up changing their mind; chances are they have to forfeit a deposit or lose the availability of a rental they may have not wanted earlier but now they do.
